My first step towards saving £1,600 this year

Now yesterday was the first proper test of my resolve, as I had been off work the first 3 days of the year (always makes it easy to keep a resolution if you are not in a position to break it).

So as the rain came down, not heavy but the wet you through rain, I could have easily given in and booked a taxi. But I kept my resolve and one rain sodden 3 mile walk later I had made it to work and had saved the money I would have spent on a taxi.

I also managed to get through the day at work without buying any food or drinks. So a complete day without spending money, just the rest of the year to go now. On the not buying food front, now that was made easier with the leftovers from Christmas, and taking a tube of pringles in with my sandwiches. Just will the same resolve stand scrutiny when there are no treats and the canteen is calling your name.
